Adolph P. Bell Obituary

Adolph P. Bell age 102 of Houston passed away peacefully Saturday February 10, 2018 in his home with his family by his side. He was born January 8, 1916 in Canonsburg a son of the late Joseph and Felicia Delmaster Bell. Mr. Bell live most of his life in Houston and was a faithful member of Our lady of the Miraculous Medal Roman Catholic Church in Meadowlands. He served with the United States Army during World War II in the 896th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion in Europe and the Rhineland. Prior to his retirement Mr. Bell had been employed with the former Leroy’s Music in Canonsburg. Being very mechanical minded he repaired televisions, jukeboxes, pinball machines and various other pieces of equipment throughout his life. He enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled airplanes and he played the organ by ear. On September 25, 1941 he married Margaret E. “Peggy” Graff who passed away September 21, 2003. Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Deborah Blanchard and her husband Michael of Wilmington NC, his son, Paul A. Bell of Houston, five grandchildren; Pamela (Scott) Thigpen, Christa Burch, Johnathan (Susan) Blanchard and Ailene and David Bell, nine great grandchildren; Keira, Aspen, Siena and Cayden Thigpen, Samantha and Darren Burch and Nevin, Collins and Bennett Blanchard and several nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family. Deceased in addition to his wife and parents is his grandson Jeremy Blanchard who died in infancy, three sisters Violet D’Atri, Lena Salansky and Ada Kobert and five brothers; Nick, Norman, Art, Louis and Ralph Bell.

Family and friends are welcome from 4-8pm Friday February 16, 2018 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra FD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30am Saturday February 17, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Saturday in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadowlands. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
