Irene A. Marchesi

     Irene A. Marchesi age 91 of Hendersonville passed away peacefully Tuesday June 20, 2017 in her home following an extended illness. She was Born May 30, 1926 in Bridgeville a daughter of the late Joseph and Lena Angeli  Gardini. Mrs. Marchesi was a graduate of Bridgeville High School and a devoted member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg. Prior to her retirement she had been a supervisor in the laundry department at both the former Mayview and Woodville State Hospitals. Mrs. Marchesi lived the past 71 years in Hendersonville where for many years she had been an election pole worker. She enjoyed crocheting and was most happy at Sunday dinners with her family especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

     On August 3, 1946, she married Guy A. Marchesi who passed away February 2, 1980. Left behind to cherish her memory are two daughters; Cheryl Hammond (Marc Petras) of Hendersonville and Gina (Rich) Stein of Mt. Lebanon, six grandchildren; Jeffrey Hammond, Jennifer Hammond, Amy (Joe) Comunale, Gregory (Lindsay) Stein, Katie (Dan) Hauser and Douglas Stein, her sister Angelina McAfee of Fulerton California, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Deceased in addition to her parents and husband is her son Guy A. Marchesi who passed away August 29, 2002 and a sister, Virginia Woodall.

     Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Thursday June 22, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayer will be recited at 9:30am Friday June 23, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Patrick Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg with interment to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
