Julie Kern, 82 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Canonsburg Hospital.

She was born on October 20, 1934 in Avella to George Telesko, Sr., and Anne Smeraka Telesko who preceded her in death.

On July 11, 1960 she married James E. (Binx) Kern who passed away on August 4, 2013.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Canonsburg.

Mrs. Kern worked for RCA in Meadowlands for many years. She retired from Canon-McMillian School District in 1991. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and will be missed by all those that knew and loved her.

She is survived by one son Mark (Dana) Kern of Washington, three sisters Margaret Woycio of Tarentum, Elizabeth (Dick) Demsher of Canonsburg, and Helen (Connie) Senkinc of Canonsburg and four grandchildren Claudia and Avery Kern and Douglas and Michael Kern.

She was preceded in death by a son James Kern, two brothers John and Michael Telesko, a sister Ann Terpin and two sisters who died in infancy.

Friends are welcome from 10 AM  until 11 AM the time of services on Saturday, September 30, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
