Larry A. Zofchak

     Larry A. Zofchak age 59 of Muse passed away unexpectedly Friday June 9, 2017 in St. Clair Hospital, Mt Lebanon following major heart surgery earlier in the week. He was born May 2, 1958 in Houston a son of the late Peter W. “Poopsie” and Mary Ann Yarkosky Zofchak. Mr. Zofchak was a 1976 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School. He was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Muse. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a coal miner for many years with Consol Energy,Baily Mine. He was a skilled carpenter, specializing in kitchen and bathroom remodeling. Mr. Zofchak was a member of the Fraternal Order of Bears in Meadowlands, Youngsville American Legion, Muse Independent Club and Veterens of Foreign Wars Post 8803, Tidioute. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and had been on many hunting trips with his friends and family

     On May 16, 1981, he married his beloved wife Lisa O’Hare,who survives.  They recently celebrated 36 years of marriage together.  Also left to cherish his memory are his three loving children; Lauren (Brian) Erney of Canonsburg, Lindsey Zofchak of Denver Colorado and Derek (Sara Wood) Zofchak of Canonsburg, a grandson Beau Andrew Zofchak, born Friday June 9, 2017; two brothers Jeffrey (Debra) Zofchak of McDonald and David (Lisa) Zofchak of Houston; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews. Mr. Zofchak also leaves behind his faithful dog Romeo.

     Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Monday June 12, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at on 9:20 am Tuesday June 13,2017.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday June 13 in Holy Rosary Church Muse, with reverend George W.
