Frank “Little Boy” DeGenova, 89 of Muse passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 1, 1928 in Pietransieri, Italy to Rodolfo and Ameila DelVecchio Lucrezi DeGenova who preceded him in death.

On June 30, 1951 in St. Mary’s Church he married Anrica Bernardi who survives.

Mr. DeGenova was a United States veteran having served his country in the Navy during World War II from 1945 until 1946 and in the Army in the Korean War from 1950 until 1952.

He was employed by Universal Cyclops in Bridgeville until his retirement in 1992.

He was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Muse. He also was a member of the Muse Italian Independent Club, the American Legion Post 902 and the VFW Post 191.

Mr. DeGenova had many interests and hobbies including making homemade wine and Italian sausage and making tripe at the Muse Italian Independent Club. He was a volunteer fireman at the Cecil Township Volunteer Fire Company #2 in Muse. He enjoyed grocery shopping and especially price comparison shopping.

Above all, he was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family members, especially Sunday dinners with the family, and creating great memories and a lasting legacy.

In addition to his beloved wife Anrica, he is survived by three daughters Linda Derrico (David), of Canonsburg, Rosemary (Eric) Stachowicz of Eighty-Four, Chris (John) Bowman of Canonsburg, four sisters Rose (Ray) Roman, Milda (Vic) Bernardi, Valia (Chuck) DeVitis, and Katherine (Daniel) Lemon, four grandchildren  Sarah (Ryan) Smith,  Zachary (Kaitlen) Bowman, Rachel Derrico and Jared (Alex) Bowman, three great grandchildren, Jordyn, Kameron and Logan Smith and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Willy DeGenova.

Friends are welcome from 6~8 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 and 2~4 PM & 6~8 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2018  in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 8:50 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 246 Muse-Bishop Road, Muse. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville at 11:00 a.m. Full military rites will be accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 and the United States Army Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Holy Rosary Catholic Church or the Washington City Mission, 84 West Wheeling Street, Washington, PA 15301.
