Mary Encandela

Mary Mazza Encandela age 94 of Houston, PA passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 with her family by her side.  She was born June 22, 1925 in Washington, PA the daughter of the late Anthony Mazza and Lucy Mazza DeLuca.
On September 24, 1949 she married her beloved husband John J. Encandela, who passed away May 8, 2013. Surviving are a daughter, Donna (Rubin Richards) Shriver of Houston; a son, John A. (Gary Covey) Encandela of Long Island, New York; two grandsons Michael Maloy and Greg (Heather) Shriver, a great-granddaughter Mya Maloy, a great-grandson Emmet Shriver, and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are her step-father, Charles DeLuca; four sisters, Antoinette Parrino, Rose Matyuf, Catherine Gargarella and Teresa Mazza; four brothers, John, Joe, Dominic and Samuel Mazza.  Mary was the last surviving sibling of both her’s and her husband’s families. Friends are welcome on Sunday January 12, 2020 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Salandra Funeral Service, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be held at 9:20AM on Monday January 13, 2020. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Canonsburg. The Christian Mothers and Guild will recite the rosary Sunday at 2pm in the funeral home.
