Dennis S. Fonte

Dennis S. Fonte age 85 of Friendship Village of Upper St. Clair passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday August 22, 2023, at home with his devoted wife by his side. He was born January 11, 1938, in Lawrence, a son of the late Dennis and Clara Mae Steubenbordt Fonte. Mr. Fonte proudly served with the United States Army overseas. Prior to his retirement he had been employed for many years as a roller with J & L Steel Corporation and was a member of the United Steel Workers of America. Dennis was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying the Pittsburgh Steelers and gardening. He had attended St. Benedict the Abbot Roman Catholic Church in Peters Twp. On January 11, 1964, he married Margaret Parnell, who survives after 59 years of marriage. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his son Dennis M. Fonte of North Carolina, his sister Nancy (Richard) Cushey and brother Craig (Linda) Fonte, nieces and nephews and many friends. Family and friends are welcome from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm Tuesday August 29, 2023, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. Interment will follow at 2 pm, with full Military Honors accorded by the VFW post 191 Honor Guard and the United States Army in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp.
