DIANA LORETTA CIARALLO, devoted daughter, beloved sister, treasured aunt

November 15, 1946 — July 27, 2023

Diana Ciarallo, 76, of Canonsburg, late of Odenton, MD, passed peacefully on July 27 with family at her side. Ms. Ciarallo, preceded in death by her parents, Giovanina (Joan) and Ernesto Ciarallo of Canonsburg, and sister Olga Cummins of Anaheim, CA, is survived by her sister, Lillian Bazis, of Odenton, MD, and brother Ernest Ciarallo of Canonsburg, as well as numerous close cousins, nephews, and nieces. 

Ms. Ciarallo was born and raised in Canonsburg and attended Canonsburg High School. She worked in food service at the Washington County Health Center for over 20 years and retired in order to take care of her aging mother, who passed away in 2007. Diana's personal strength helped her fight through some serious illnesses, with cancer treatments in Baltimore, Maryland, where she underwent major surgery at Mercy Hospital in 2009. After 10 years of follow ups, she was pronounced cancer free. In 2014 she made Maryland her home. In 2015 she contracted meningitis, requiring weeks of hospitalization, and again fought back with amazing strength. Her fighting spirit and sense of humor encouraged her family to embrace and support her through difficult times.

Ms. Ciarallo was never happier than when she was holding a baby or playing with a child, and she delighted in doting on her nephews and nieces when they were small, then later their children. She was a gentle person with a love of animals, especially her Pekingese dog, Chi-Chi.

Possessed of a delightful, sarcastic sense of humor, she enjoyed a good joke and was quick to laugh – a sound that was memorable to all who knew her. This sweet soul never had an enemy and will be sorely missed by those who loved her.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11AM Saturday August 12,2023 in St. Oscar Romero Parish St Patrick Church 317 West Pike St Canonsburg Pa 15317.  Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery Canonsburg.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into the care of SALANDRA FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC.
