Lynne Ann Douglas

Lynne Ann Douglas age 61 of Houston passed away peacefully, Thursday March 14, 2024, in Washington Hospital. She was born June 1, 1962, in Charleroi, a daughter of the late John R. and Joan Sentipal Douglas. Lynne lived her life in Houston and was a graduate of Chartiers Houston Sr. High School class of 1980, earned a Degree in Education from Waynesburg College and received a master’s degree in education from California University. She was a devoted schoolteacher whose life revolved around education, starting at St. Hilary School in Washington and prior to her retirement for 30 years with Canon-McMillan School District at the North Strabane Intermediate School. Lynne also worked for 40 years at Sarris Candies and was an avid supporter of the Frank Sarris Library. She was a member of PSEA and the National Education Association. Left behind to cherish her memory is her brother Steve Douglas of Canonsburg and 3 beloved nephews, Sean (Reba), Christopher (Amanda) and Matthew Douglas and great nieces and nephews Dawson, Dalton, Briley and Ariella. Deceased, in addition to her parents is her sister-in-law Irene Douglas who passed away December 5, 2021.

Friends and family are welcome from 1 pm until 8 pm Sunday, March 17, 2024, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, where a catholic blessing service will be held at 10 am on Monday, March 18, 2024. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Frank Sarris Library.
