Mary Alice Babiak

Mary Alice Babiak age 94 of Chartiers Twp, formerly of Canonsburg passed away peacefully Tuesday morning October18, 2022, in the home of her daughter with her family by her side. She was born October 31, 1927, in Canonsburg a daughter of the late George and Mary Chervenak Joseph. Mary lived most of her life in Canonsburg where she was a lifelong member of St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church. She was educated in First Street School and was a 1946 graduate of Trinity High School. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother who especially loved time spent with her cherished grandson. She was an exceptional housekeeper, who enjoyed gardening, baking, canning and cleaning her home. On August 19, 1951, she married her husband of 62 years Nicholas “Mickey” Babiak who passed away September 24, 2013.Left behind to cherish her memory is her devoted daughter Melanie Spagnolo and her husband Len with who she made her home, her beloved grandson Nicholas Joseph Spagnolo and several nieces nephews and cousins. Mrs. Babiak was the last of her immediate family. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents is her sister Ann Joseph Rilko and her husband Andrew, her brother George Joseph and his wife Sarah and a nephew Kenneth Joseph.

Friends and family are welcome from 3pm until 7 pm Thursday October 20, 2022, in Salandra Funeral and cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Friday October 21, 2022, in St. Germaine Church of Our Lady of Hope Parish 7003 Baptist Road Bethel Park. (ALL ATTENDING PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH).
