Mary Candida Scandale

Mary Candida Scandale age 84 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in the Greenery with her beloved family by her side. She was born October 16, 1938, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Armando and Filomena Colaizzo DiSibio. Mary was raised in Canonsburg where she graduated from Canonsburg High School class of 1956. She was a faithful member of St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church, where she taught CCD classes for 25 years and a member of the Christian Mothers Guild and Guild. Mrs. Scandale was a hairdresser by trade and a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed baking and canning from her Italian heritage and watching her grandchildren when they were little. On June 17, 1961, she married Frank “Wishbone” Scandale who passed away October 24, 2017, after 55 years of marriage. Left behind to cherish her memory are her devoted daughters, Rosa M. (John) Quatman and Lucia F. (David) Stopenski, both of Canonsburg, granddaughters, Nadia (Corey) Nicholson, Carina Stopenski and Maria Stopenski, her great grandson, Malcolm Nicholson, two nieces, Phyllis Scandale and Susan McKelvey and many great nieces and nephews. Mary was the last of her immediate family. Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents is her brother Orlando DiSibio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Twp.
