Michael J. Maroney, Jr.

August 31, 1987 — April 30, 2015

Michael J. Maroney, Jr., 27, of Hickory passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 30, 2015.

He was born on August 31, 1987 in Pittsburgh, the son of Michael J. and Donna R. Rush Maroney, Sr. of Hickory.

Michael was a 2006 graduate of Fort Cherry High School and had attended West Virginia University as a business major.  For the last five years he had been employed at World Wide Industries where he painted water towers.  He enjoyed drawing, working out at the gym, and playing basketball.

In addition to his parents, also surviving are a sister, Tara L. (Craig Zimmerman) Maroney of Carnegie; two nieces, Mackenzie and Aubrie Zimmerman of Carnegie; grandfather, Charles Rush of Florida; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Janet Rush and Edward and Alice Maroney.

Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, May 3, 2015 and Monday, May 4, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph p. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, May 5, 2015.  A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg.  Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.

The Christian Mothers and Guild will recite the Rosary at 2:00 PM Monday, May 4, 2015.
