Stanley R. Skotnicki, 83, of Canonsburg passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 in the Donnell House, Washington with his loving family by his side.

He was born on May 3, 1932 in Glassport, a son of the late Valentine and Sophie Zapor Skotnicki.

Stan proudly served his country stateside with the United States Army during the Korean War.

He retired from RCA/Tactec in 1984 as an electronic technician.

Stan enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and building model airplanes.  He especially enjoyed gardening and making his famous pies every Sunday with fruits he grew.  Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored.

On August 18, 1956 he married his beloved wife, Evelyn M. Allas Skotnicki, who survives.

Also surviving are his loving children, James R. (Debbie) Skotnicki of Salcha, Alaska and Vicki Lynn (Stan) Whited of Canonsburg; four grandchildren, Stanley Michael Whited and Cody James Whited, both of Canonsburg, Amanda K. Nelson of Bellingham, Washington, and Christopher W. Skotnicki of Salcha, Alaska; two great grandchildren, Teagan and Ethan Nelson, both of Bellingham, Washington; two brothers, Eugene (Hazel) Skotnicki of Liberty Borough and Frank (Kay) Skotnicki of South Park; a sister, Carol Skotnicki of North Versailles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph W. Skotnicki; three brothers, John, Edward, and Walter Skotnicki; and a sister, Josephine Ritter.

Friends are welcome from 1-4 PM on Sunday, April 10, 2016 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a catholic blessing service will begin at 12 Noon on Monday, April 11, 2016.  Interment, with full military rites accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 Honor Guard, will follow at 1:00 PM in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp.
