Viola Lucia Cerenzia

Viola Lucia Cerenzia, 103 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Washington Hospital with her loving family by her side. She had been in Presbyterian Senior Care for 15 months for a leg injury.

She was born on December 12, 1914 in Canonsburg a daughter of the Daniel DeVitis, Sr., and Julia DePaulo Powell DeVitis who preceded her in death.

She married Charles Cerenzia, Sr. in 1931. He passed away on March 4, 1989.

She enjoyed being with her family, cooking, watching TV and football. She loved her family and playing cards. The last 40 years she lived with her son, Charles.

Mrs. Cerenzia was a Roman Catholic who was a lifetime member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg.

Surviving is a daughter Angela Belifore (James) of Houston, two sons Charles (Cheryl) Cerenzia of Canonsburg, Joseph (Adele) Cerenzia of Canonsburg, two sisters-in-law, Mary DeVitis and Gerry DeVitis, five grandchildren, Mark (Kathie) Belifore, Michael (Judy) Cerenzia, Todd (Gina) Cerenzia, Jody (Jeff) Lukan and Jamie Belifore, five great grandchildren Breanne and Dannel Belifore, Allison Luken, Cody and Colin Cerenzia and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are three brothers Peter DeVitis , John (Mary) DeVitis, Daniel DeVitis, three sisters Carmel (James) Malone, Ann (John) Andresh, Marie (Louis) Natale, step sister Yvonne DeVitis and her step-mother Catherine Maura.

Friends are welcome from 2~4 and 6~8 pm. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children.
